Every year on 9th August, South Africans celebrate National Women's Day in honour of the approximately 20,000 courageous women who marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria in 1956 to protest against the apartheid pass laws. Their bravery and determination helped shape our country's history, and today we celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of women everywhere.
