BTW, my old school played rugby, grass hockey and cricket. When I was, perhaps 11-12 years old, I scored a try during one rugby match, then heard my team mates call my name in exasperated tones. The ref (games master) chided them "He can't see without his glasses!"

🤣... you're welcome! At that age, those three sports were compulsory/full-time for all pupils [to select players to represent the school.] From age 13-14 onwards, those who were not selected could take up other sports on Mondays and Wednesdays but still played inter-house rugby, hockey and cricket on Saturdays when we did not host fixtures with other schools.
