word on the streets is you need to submit 5 weeks ahead of release now. BAck in the day, it was helpful if you had some press to go with it. To be honest, a lot has changed there and it's been some time I've gotten on an editorial playlist. I recently tried their paid promo for new releases, i think i9t may have helped. The algorithm kicked in.
It definitely helps if people subscribe and heart/like songs. I personally need to push that more.

5 weeks, wow. Thats long, how much would you say i would need for a decent paid promo? Something ive always thought about but never really have the funds.. but i was thinking about hitting up the old man to see if he would lend me some cash but its a long shot lol.
I had submitted 2 week ago but it wasn't on my artist account till today. They have trouble uploading to my youtube topic account as well. Ends up in various artist and lost in there. The company is Canadian but the support are Aussies so its hard to get things sorted in real time.
2 weeks ahead of release WAS the standard; but apparently not anymore. But, I kinda don't buy it. Spotify gets slammed with many thousands of new releases per day. I think it's all about improving your stats with them which includes, followers, likes and listeners by paid subscribers in big markets.
I threw in about $100. I think Spotify used only $60. My latest single has been getting decent plays from suggestions. I don't know if paying had anything to do with it but I'm sure it helped to a capacity. It's all guess work at this point. :/

I normally release something each month or did for most of last year and i was in the radio algorithm. At Max i was getting 300 new listeners per day. And For me that was awesome, i can afford $100 but i was to the understanding you needed more for Spotify paid promo. i watched a video where they said to add your socials into the editorial submissions, this was from one of the editors. Sounded like a really cool idea. Sent a write up of the EP to the distro team to put in their blog as well.
