19 year old on electric scooter didn’t look before crossing tram tracks
As Wojciech Jachim, spokesman for Szczecin Trams, told us, the 19-year-old who was driving the scooter was very lucky. "He came out of it in one piece, which is largely due to the driver, who quickly slowed down. Surprisingly, the tram suffered more," Jachim wrote, informing that the windshield and bumper were destroyed. Repairing the damage is supposed to cost over 10 thousand zlotys.
"Szczecin Trams intend to apply to the perpetrator of the incident for reimbursement of costs incurred" - said the spokesman. He added that "the young man was traveling with headphones on his ears, probably why he did not react to the moving tram, even though the driver tried to warn him with a bell".
The event was classified as a road collision, the perpetrator of which was a 19-year-old driver of a scooter. He was punished with a penalty fine of PLN 1020 - told us the superintendent Anna Gembala, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Szczecin.
