Just saw the new A24 movie Talk To Me
Man… I’ve seen a lot of scary movies over the years. I write horror comics. My point is, the bar for “scary” for me is pretty high. Not to say I never get scared in movies, just that it takes a lot to freak me out.
That being said, Talk To Me honestly may be the scariest movie I’ve ever seen. I just got out of a Thursday preview showing about 30-ish minutes ago and… holy shit, y’all. Maybe it’s recency bias, but this movie fucked me up. It’s been a minute since I felt like this. Maybe since Hereditary? Or Sinister?
I won’t go into spoilers or specific plot details here, but it’s a well-acted, tragic, EXTREMELY scary, original take on the demon possession horror movie. I know this is one that’s going to stay with me for a while. Highly recommend… but just be warned, this one isn’t for the faint of heart
Edit - to those who say I’m a paid shill… I wish. I just really thought this was a very good, very scary movie. If you know of any actual job opportunities at A24, hit your boy up.
