Wow is dying in Korea

Yes, we have never been the biggest communities, but it has been getting worse lately and I can feel that WoW is dying in Korea.

The biggest issue with Korea is that we are not attracting younger, newer players. We are basically the same old guys who have been playing since Vanilla and we are just growing old together. I know this is how it is in other regions, but it's really bad in Korea.

I would say the majority of the player base is somewhat in mid-30 to late-30 and a lot going into early 40s now.

The problem with this is that, we have a "low birthrate" problem. Since, we aren't attracting new players, we are just losing more players every year as we get older.

I have felt it a lot in this expac. I logged in this Saturday afternoon to play some Mythics and I shit you not, there were 3 groups forming. And Trade and LFG was dead silent.

This is incredibly sad for me as WoW is the only thing that entertains me during my breaks and I feel like I am forced to quit not because I am bored, but because population is declining. And you know for an MMORPG, population is everything.

It doesn't help that Lineage Classic and Aion 2 has been taking some WoW players as well, and then there's Crimson Desert coming out soon.

I wish WoW was marketed in a way to attract younger players in Korea, but it's been stigmatized as "unc's game." Which is true LOL

Anyways, sorry for ranting. I hope your servers are not as bad as ours. Best of luck in Season 1!
