That’s Not the Moon. I Photographed the Planet Venus Setting Behind Seattle’s Space Needle Last Night. There Was No Composition Done For This Image.
Following the setting Sun yesterday evening was a distant world — one that has been shrouded with clouds for billions of years. A world reflecting so much sunlight that it can be spotted during broad daylight. Venus.
For years I have had the goal of resolving the planet against a foreground or landscape, and just maybe, human beings. Last night, I got that opportunity.
I am proud to present the Space Needle, human beings, and a planet the size of Earth 66 million kilometers away in a single image.
