mySQL2nd yr cs student. I dont want to give in but its an uphill battle for me
I feel overwhelemed this sem. Currently having anxiety for the future because I have 2 projects whose deadlines are sooner than id like to be. Just want to rant, skip if you dont wanna read.
Im a 2nd yr cs college student and by the end of this sem we are expected to have 2 projects:
1.) Demonstrates understanding of webdesign (js) and informaation management (database, ). Can be a website or someform of a information system
2.) A project that demonstrates conceptual understanding of java and its fundamentals. Can be done either through a simple video game or website.
Writing this out now makes me realize that they must not seem that difficult (and tbf to you they might not be), im just having a difficult time trying to piece my mind together to place myself on the most efficient path for finishing these.
So far what we and my groupmates have actually done for each project are as follows:
A.) Create 1 page of the website we are trying to build (purely 1 page of js, just for front end purposes)
B.) Nothing tangible as of now
... im a dumbass right? Heres some things you should also know:
Project A: - im the "leader" of it even though i dont feel like I know more than my groupmates
- our initial proposed idea for the website we tried to make was too ambitious so we had to remove a few features
- deadline is around 2 weeks into december
- im way more confident in my backend skills than my front end
Project B: - Im not the leader for this but we do have one. He seems very capable to me in solving this project on his own already but that does not mean I should just piggyback off him. Like seriously this guys github is awesome
- deadline for this is the end of november
**additional notes - dsa is kicking everyones ass and takes a a significant portion of my time ( I really dont want to fail this subject) - i even took advance classes so I could underload this sem so i can "focus" more on the major subjects.
Okay by now you should get a rough timeline of what Im dealing with. Heres what Im thinking I need to do so far to atleast stand a chance:
Project A: - complete the entire website design on figma so we can have a guide for the front end (will start today)
- ask guidance from my friends who have more progress on this proj (i got the figma idea from them, initially I thought 1 page from figma was enough of a design guide going forward but clearly thats just stupid)
- ideally have a front end before starting front end
Project B: - i honestly have no idea where or what to do for this since I never dealt with java before. I intend to ask my leader on what specific part I can learn to do so hindi ako pabigat at the very least.
Some of my concerns (gaps in my knowledge/plans)
Proj A: - Idk how to do tailwind css. I was told by my friends that its very useful and I should get ontop of it. - Im very unconfident how to properly "connect" the front end with the back end (i.e. click buttons to get data from DB)
- my other reliable teamate (we r three people in a group) prioritizes another subj, networking, more than this. I dont blame him at all for that since its a very hard subject and I understand completely
Proj B: - I really dont know shit bruhhh our oop subject was so shit (not an excuse to fuckup, really need to ask guidance from leader)
... Anyways thats it. Man i feel tired just thinking abiut this. I dont want to fuck up. #technology e.g. source
