Welcome to November. We have officially crossed into the…

Welcome to November. We have officially crossed into the heart of the "Ber" months and December is standing right at our doorstep. The holiday rush is fully kicking into gear, the air feels different and the end-of-the-year countdown is louder than ever.

But here at the very start of November, the world asks us to pause. With the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day, this month begins not with a rush but with a quiet, sacred moment of reflection.

It is a time when we collectively turn our hearts toward remembrance. We light candles, visit graves and look at old photos, holding space for the people we have loved and lost. This collective pause reminds us of a heavy truth: so many of us are walking into this festive season carrying the weight of grief and empty chairs. The upcoming holidays are supposed to be joyful but when you are missing someone, the lights can feel a little too bright and the music a little too loud.

On top of that grief, the world around us hasn’t slowed down. The global noise, economic pressures and daily anxieties are still spinning at full speed. You might be fighting intense private battles right now, trying to manage year-end work deadlines, navigating family complexities or feeling financial stress about the holiday season. It is completely exhausting to balance the pressure to be festive with the reality of being tired, hurting or burnt out.

If you are entering November feeling heavy, please know that your grief and your exhaustion are valid.

You do not have to force yourself to be perfectly happy just because December is near. The beautiful thing about honoring All Saints and All Souls is the reminder that love doesn't end just because someone is gone and human connection is the most powerful thing we have.

This November, let the memory of those who came before you give you strength. They survived their own storms and you are surviving yours. You don’t need to finish this year perfectly. You don’t need to accomplish a hundred things before December arrives.

Take this month one day at a time. Protect your energy, light a candle for your quiet hopes and be incredibly gentle with your heart. You have made it through eleven months of a long, heavy year. You are still here, still fighting and that is a beautiful victory in itself.
