To All The DJs Here:
Was playing a college party today and the floor was in the basement. There were like 600-700 people there and only 10-80 people on the dancefloor actively. It was really distracting to me because I got told to play house/tech-house with some remixes of famous songs (downloaded like 12hrs of decent mash ups). So the thing is that is was so mixed like I didnt know what people wanted from me, its hard to explain because I wasnt playing anything too underground. One time I went to the toilet after being 2 1/2hrs into my set and people were telling that everyone was dancing outside to a quiet beat and I asked why they dont wanna come inside and one of them said he thinks its theres too much going on outside.
And my question is to the DJs, how you handle something like this. I dont know I played like 20 gigs the last 2 Months and I feel like sometimes you get humbled without doin anything wrong and because the side factors arent with you but it really scratches on yourself and you ask yourself what you did wrong
