I'm from the era and area that this book is set and have heard so many good things about the Sean Duffy series. I'm two thirds through but struggling with some issues.
Firstly, for a book set 80s Northern Ireland, there's a lot of Americanisms, cars being checked at the DMV, mm/dd/yy date formats, strip malls.
then there's continuity errors. it's morning and people are saying good afternoon. sean is handed coffee, but then finishes gulping down his tea.
