The plot of MAD MAX 2 takes place several years after the events of the original film. The collapse of civilization as we knew it, which was only beginning in the original Mad Max, completely collapses, bringing the human race to a total collapse after World War III, when the world was no longer able to produce the fuel to survive. keep the industry running, like in a house of cards, the rest of the mechanism that maintained social order finally collapses, there is no longer order, there are no authorities (Max was still a highway police officer in the original), in MAD MAX 2 the world faced total anarchy, the roads became battlefields where gangs fought for control of the most precious fuel!!!
