A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS : Was there another way to deal with Rasheed's Murder?
I recently completed the book and naturally went through a huge emotional rollercoaster.
One thing I don't understand is was Mariam turning herself in the only way out? I always imagined they could hide the body in the hole in the backyard or leave to somewhere else (example Mariam to Herat or anywhere else). I understand she wanted to give Laila and Tariq a fresh start but I don't remember there being any complaints or witnesses, so shouldn't she have at least tried to run or hide first?
