Gaza Journalists Hold Vigil at the Site Where 6 Colleagues Were Killed by an Israeli Drone Strike One Year Ago Today
A group of Palestinian journalists and citizens gathered in Gaza City today for a solemn vigil at the exact site where six of their colleagues were killed by an Israeli drone strike precisely one year ago.
Demonstrators held banners featuring photos of the fallen media workers—including Al Jazeera staff and independent journalists—under the slogan "Martyrs of Truth" (شهداء الحقيقة).
The vigil serves as a poignant memorial for the targeted reporters and a reminder of the continuing dangers faced by press members in Gaza. Participants reiterated their call on international organizations and human rights groups to hold those responsible accountable and ensure urgent protection for journalists fulfilling their duty to report the truth from the ground.
