Outside of season I guess but I just read it and I haven't felt this way since reading To Kill a Mocking Bird, at least I haven't read something that made me feel like I did as a kid where everything was beautiful and nothing hurt(Kurt Vonnegut quote BTW). It's a short story that I read along with Breakfast at Tiffanies, House of Flowers and Diamond Guitar but A Christmas Memory just hit a spot in me I haven't given enough space to breath. It made me wonder when the last time I read something so wholesome was and though I don't put in specific energy into finding rough stories, they're just the ones that draw me more than the rest, IMO. So it was nice to read something that didn't feel like it had too much to say other than "I was loved once." It made me think back on a line from a René Char poem. "It was on the outskirts of adorable years. The earth did love us a little, I remember."
