If you could redesign the Kallax for board gamers, what would you change?
If you could redesign the Kallax specifically for board gamers, what would you actually change?
I’ve been staring at my own Kallax and wondering why the default board-game solution still feels like a compromise. It works, but it also feels like a normal shelf being bullied into handling weird box sizes, expansions, playmats, minis, and a bunch of tiny stuff that never belongs anywhere. I’d want adjustable dividers, a way for small games not to disappear, and maybe better support for heavy boxes that get pulled out a lot. The closest ideas I’ve seen are things like Laxrax-style add-ons, IKEA hacks, Etsy dividers, and custom inserts, but none of them feel like a full redesign of the cube itself. What would you add? Drawers, half-shelves, labels, doors, deeper cubes?
