Do I have to register as freelancer in Germany if I'm already an employee?
I am an engineer and I'm employed with a permanent residence permit for almost 5 years already, I have a Steuer ID printed in my payslips. I am also a musician and ocasionally I play in events. I just got one gig for an event and they asked me to make an invoice with a Steuernr. Of course this is not related to my main job, but can I use the same Steuer ID I already have or do I have to register separately as freelancer for this type of thing?, I don't do this very regularly, maybe two or three times per year. If I had more paid gigs would I have to register a business at some point?
