Oscar Peterson Quartet – Tea for Two
Oscar Emmanuel Peterson CC CQ OOnt (August 15, 1925 – December 23, 2007) was a Canadian jazz pianist and composer. A virtuoso and considered to be one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, Peterson released more than 200 recordings, won eight Grammy Awards , as well as a lifetime achievement award from the Recording Academy , and received numerous other awards and honors. He played thousands of concerts worldwide in a career lasting more than 60 years. He was called the " Maharaja of the keyboard" by Duke Ellington , simply "O.P." by his friends and, informally in the jazz community, "the King of inside swing." - more at Wikipedia
" Tea for Two " is a 1924 song composed by Vincent Youmans , with lyrics by Irving Caesar . It was introduced in May 1924 by Phyllis Cleveland and John Barker during the Chicago pre- Broadway run of the musical No, No, Nanette . When the show finally hit Broadway on September 16, 1925, Nanette was played by Louise Groody and her duet with Barker of "Tea for Two" was a hit.
