Qatar's Hamad International Airport won the top spot at the 2024 World Airport Awards in Frankfurt, Germany, on April 17. Beating Singapore's Changi Airport, which had won the title 12 times before, Hamad International Airport in Doha claimed the coveted position for the third time, after winning in 2021 and 2022.
The Qatari airport stood out by winning not just the World's Best Airport title, but also excelling in categories like World's Best Airport Shopping and being recognized as the Cleanest and Best Airport in the Middle East. These awards are announced annually by Skytrax, a research firm based in London.
Although conceding the top spot, Changi Airport maintained its status as the best airport in Asia and was acknowledged as the global leader in immigration services. Incheon International Airport in Seoul took third place, while Tokyo's Haneda and Narita airports secured the fourth and fifth positions.
Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport was notably awarded the Best Art in the Airport prize, while Terminal A of Newark Liberty Airport in New Jersey claimed the title of Best New Airport Terminal.
