A reading from the Gospel of Matthew 16:13-20
REFLECT:
Jesus called Himself the โSon of Man,โ showing both His humanity and His divine authority. When Peter recognized Jesus as the Messiah, Jesus explained that this understanding would become the foundation of His Church, which evil would not overcome.
The โkeys of the kingdomโ represent the authority God gives His people to stand against evil and injustice, free people from things that hold them captive, and promote justice and love.
DO:
The best way for us to proclaim our faith in Jesus , and participate in Godโs saving work, is to seek justice, peace, love and equality for those around us. We do this in small acts of compassion, generosity, love and solidarity. When we stand alongside the vulnerable and use our resources and our voice to uplift them, we are proclaiming Jesusโ Messiahship and the presence of Godโs reign. And the simplest way to do this is to treat every person with dignity, grace and kindness.
Today let your interactions with others be kind and gracious.
PRAY:
Lord Jesus, help us to recognise who You are and to use the strength You give us to stand against injustice, bring freedom to others, and show Your love in all that we do. Guide our words, actions, and choices today. Amen ๐๐ผ
