Im only a smidge past The Grand Inquisitor so please try not to drop spoilers BUT what the heck is the pov of this novel?
In the 1st couple of chapters I assumed it was a monk retelling the story of the Karamazov's. Then as I got farther in I was like this monk is talking about the thoughts of all the Karamazov's so it must be more of a 3rd person omniscient. Now I have come to the end of Book 6 Chap 1 and the narrator says "I cannot determine" in regard to themselves.
Following the Biblical theme of this novel, I am now curious to know if Dostoevsky created a Trinitarian narrator? It calls to mind Mark 13:32. Is the narrator an incarnation of Dostoevsky who is both fully character and fully omniscient? Or am I too far off in the weeds? #entertainment
