Playing Lichess on a real board

I much prefer playing on a physical board, but most of the chess I play is online, so I’ve been building an app called **ChessCam** for a while.

The phone camera watches the board and picks up my moves, and when my opponent moves it reads the move out loud so I can make it on the real board.

It also keeps track of whether the physical position is actually correct, so if I move the wrong piece or the board gets out of sync, it stops and asks me to fix it rather than silently continuing.

The second screen you can see in the video is just following the game live from the spectator side.

Still working on making the recognition as reliable as possible with different boards and pieces, but it works really well IMO. I’m curious what people here think.

**Would you actually enjoy playing online this way?**
