Beware of disobeying your parents, for it is a major sin. Do not speak harshly to them, but address them with kindness. Lower your wing of humility and mercy towards them, and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was small." Your father and mother are among the greatest blessings our Lord has bestowed upon you. Their pleasure is our pleasure, and their displeasure is our displeasure!
Always strive for their satisfaction and their kind prayers. God Almighty says: โYour Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to your parents. If one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, nor repel them, but speak to them with gracious words.โ

Yes, my sister, obedience to parents is everything. One example we have is that if you see someone successful in life, it's because of their parents, and if you see someone failing in life, it's because of their parents. Meaning, the first person treated them well, and the second person did the opposite.
