Meralco Problem 120K but No Bills
I'm wondering if anyone else have a similar experience to me. Hoping for guidance din kasi naloka talaga ako sa taas ng past due amount sa app.
I have a weird work schedule. Sometimes I get sent away for months.
Kapag nandito ako normal ang 4.5K to 6.5K sa Meralco bill dahil sa aircon. Up to 10K kapag sa bahay naka-summer vacation mga pamangkin ko. Kapag wala ako sa bahay for a few months, it can go down to about 1K/month dahil mga CCTV at modem lang naka-on.
Back in Feb 2026, sabi ng taga-Meralco may kalawang na daw yung metro namin so papalitan nila ng bago. Ako naman walang tanong tanong, akala ko normal practice yun.
Nung nagka-issue sa mataas na gas, I was assigned to be mostly WFH so I decided to get solar installed. Hindi zero bill set-up kasi ang mahal, but just enough so ang bill namin should be down to approx 2K until ma-afford ko yung ideal set-up ko.
Recent bills were 2.5K, 2.2K, 1.5K. Pero biglang may past due ako na 120K++?
I keep checking the app, my email, any physical mail pero wala talagang source yung P120K na past due. May mga neighbors ako na nagsabi na ganan din nangyari sa kanila, but they have it worse, 200K+ daw. Ang sabi daw sa kanila tampered meter and wala sila nagawa kundi pumayag sa installment plan. I don't get why we have to have installment plans for such kung di naman kami nagpa-tamper ng mga metro???
Pero wala ako nakitang letter about an investigation, an invite about being present kapag na-check yung meter dun daw sa main office, wala ni man lang letter explaining why I have P120K past due.
Sa mga neighbors ko meron daw mga demand letter na dumating. I checked the CCTVs wala ako na-miss na physical letter in the last 30 days.
Hindi ko gets tong accusation (and supposedly final judgement?) na may tampered meter kami tapos nakalagay for disconnection na daw linya sa bahay ko. I didn't even get a proper billing statement?
I can't even change a wall socket, how would I know and care to tamper with our meter?
I get bills that are as low as P600 pag straight akong naka-destino ng ilang months tapos di na binubuksan ref sa bahay. Why would I even need to tamper my meter pre-Feb 2026 eh most of the year naka destino ako tapos post-Feb 2026 nagpa-install ako ng solar?
Anyone has an idea how to get an answer here? Ang suggestion sa akin was to go to the main office in our area (1.5 hours na byahe)... I'm going to have to file a leave of absence if I do, and it seems like a hit to my reputation kung eto ang reason ko. I work close to finance and real estate... this could be bad on my records so I'm so stressed.
