Congratulations MAVEN—celebrating 10 years of Mars exploration!
NASA's Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) spacecraft went into Mars orbit on Sept 21, 2014, to begin collecting data to gain insights into how the sun stripped Mars of most of its atmosphere, turning a planet that was possibly habitable to microbial life into a barren desert world.
MAVEN's data shows that the deterioration of Mars's atmosphere increases significantly during solar storms
