The Goonies (1985)
The film about a band of misfits (played by Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Quan and other popular ‘80s actors) trying to find a pirate’s buried treasure to help save their neighborhood reflects the underdog story so many people love. Richard Donner directed the family-friendly, PG film, which got good reviews upon its release.
Goonies later became a cult hit, and rumors of a sequel have leaked online for years, though nothing has been filmed.
