Glock G19 V vs Gen 6 Picked up my M&P40 a few days ago but…

Glock G19 V vs Gen 6

Picked up my M&P40 a few days ago but also was going to pick up the G19 V at the same time. What stopped me was the owner told me about the Gen 6 which I didn’t know was out. Don’t really keep up to date on Glocks.

Owner suggested to get the Gen 6 over the V but also warned me that Gen 6 is sold out as they sell right away and people don’t really look for the V model. Is the Gen 6 actually much better than the V model and would the extra 100 price tag be worth it?

My other question is I’m in the process of buying magazines online and so far have a large cart. Say what claims to be OEM Glock mags on sale. Says it’s for gen 5, 4 and 3 but doesn’t mention Gen 6. Does the Gen 6 Glock use the same mag or no?

Reason I ask is I’m planning to throw 6 mags in the cart to have them now rather than later once I figure out if I’m getting the V or Gen 6.

Now the question about PSA Dagger. This gun isn’t being bought for me. Buying it for wife. She absolutely loves her G44 and has always wanted it in a 9mm. A problem that appeared is I was planning to buy the G19 in secret and surprise her. But stupidly I decided when I got back from the gun shop to tell her my plan.

She absolutely loved the idea of getting a g19 until she asked for the price. She likes to stretch her money, will admit I’m sometimes just as bad but she’s worse. When she heard the price she was admit about not getting it feeling it’s too much money for a gun. Thought about looking into LE G19 (my M&P40 is an LE trade in) because she is fine with a used G19 to save money. Honestly I’m fine paying the full price but looking into options for now.

She says she would be happy with something just close to the G19 as that’s all she cares about and I got thinking about the dagger. How does it compare to the G19 in feeling?

I’ve looked into the dagger for myself before but went a different route in the end but wonder if this is a good route for her. She doesn’t shoot often maybe a box or two a year maybe. Worse she was shocked when I said Glocks are more than 300 dollars and was even more shocked when I bought her G44 for her for 350. Forgot I never told her what I paid for it.

Now that I made the mistake of telling her and she’s adamant that I don’t pay that much for a gun I might either pay full price and take the chewing until she shots it and is happy. Or buy used and go that route but I would feel guilty getting her first 9mm used. Thats why I thought of the dagger and want to know everyone’s opinion on this.

Sorry for the long post and sorry if I left any detail out. Had to type this up fast as my wife thinks I gave up on the idea of getting her a gun which I haven’t. She’s been talking about getting a 9mm since she got her G44 about 4 years ago and seemed happy until the price was found out. She thinks it’s not worth the price with how little she shots. But also admitted yesterday she shots little because she hates reloading magazines so buying more mags for her.
