Do you view the ‘fast lane’ as the safest lane on the highway?
I’ve been given conflicting advice on this topic. A family member who has ridden for decades without major injuries or accidents has told me that slightly speeding in the left lane is the safest place on the road for a motorcycle. While another trusted family member (granted with less experience) has told me that I should use the ‘fast lane’ on a motorcycle the same as I would in a car. Basically saying that I move over there to pass then go back to the middle lane.
The only thing the two agree on is that being in the right most lane is the most dangerous lane to be in.
I’d love to hear everyone else’s opinions and philosophies on the topic to better inform my decision making in the future.
