LPT: Have a Windows 11 computer? Know where to find your BitLocker key before you get locked out
For those unaware, Bitlocker is a key protected system level encryption which can trigger with anything from a BIOS change to hardware failure. It's purpose is to protect your data if someone tries to access your device.
Windows 11 has been enabling Bitlocker automatically which it's self isn't bad, the problem is the Bitlocker screen doesn't give any information on what to do with your device other than enter the randomly generated key.
Finding the key is actually pretty easy, just head to https://aka.ms/aadrecoverykey (or Google "find bitlocker key"), and log in with the email you used the first time you setup the computer (could be an
