Imagine 17 decades of everyone acting like EVs are the first cars to ever break down

Honestly we need to take a step back and look at the big picture because the amount of selective memory in these anti EV threads is crazy. Every single time a new electric car gets a software update or a battery has an issue the bashers jump all over it like it proves the entire technology is a scam. But if you actually look at how the auto industry has evolved over the last 17 decades this is literally the exact same messy script humanity has been writing since the beginning.

When the gas engine was first invented it did not just magically work flawlessly. For 17 decades driving an internal combustion vehicle basically meant accepting a lifetime of random mechanical drama. People spent generations getting their arms broken by manual hand cranks, dealing with fuel lines that boiled the gas before it even reached the engine, and sitting on a curb waiting for a boiling radiator to stop smoking. We just forgot about all that historical frustration because we had a century and a half to normalize carrying extra coolant in the trunk and treating massive mechanical recalls as just a normal part of life.

At the end of the day true innovation is always a disaster at first and new tech always breaks in weird ways before engineers perfect it. Gas cars still get recalled by the millions every single year for everything from faulty fuel pumps to engines that literally catch fire but nobody claims gasoline is a failed concept because we are just used to it. EVs are going through their awkward growing pains right now and the bugs we see today are just the modern version of the exact same hurdles early gas cars had to face. Bashing a massive technological shift just because the early versions have some growing pains is completely missing the point.
