I’m almost finished with my Associates degree at a community college, and I’m probably going to transfer to a four year university within the next year or so. I would like to pursue a career in the science field (maybe forensic science or research of some kind) so I’ve been planning on getting my BS in Biology. My mom is extremely against this, as she says it’s a worthless degree, I’ll never find a job, and I’ll end up a waitress forever. She wants me to go medical instead, which I don’t really want to do since I don’t want to work in healthcare whatsoever. She says biology is a useless degree because she graduated with a BS in Molecular Biology in the 90’s and was unable to find a job after graduation, leaving her to build her career in insurance instead.
So, those of you who got a BS in Biology, do you regret it? Did you have a hard time finding a job after graduation? What did you do to make starting your career easier? #animals source
