POC artist recs?
Hi everyone! I’m 19 and while I’ve loved rock music since I was a kid, I’ve only recently started to really dig into it and look beyond the mainstream. As I’ve always understood it Black people basically created rock music; through blues/soul - which is also a genre I’d really like to listen to more. There’s obviously already a couple I know and love; Muddy Waters, Otis Redding, James Cooke, Etta James, Howlin Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, Prince. Feel free to give recs for any person of colour, not necessarily Black. And I’m not just looking for pioneers of the genre; current artists are welcome too!!
