$900 aluminum suitcase after ONE flight - would you accept this?

About a month ago I bought the DB Journey Ramverk Aluminium (Erling Haaland edition). Even with a discount, it still cost me around $900, so it was by far the most expensive suitcase I've ever owned.

I bought it because DB Journey markets it as a premium aluminum suitcase with a Lifetime Warranty, built for people who travel. That gave me confidence that I was buying something that would last for years.

Then I took it on its very first trip.

I flew from Denmark to Italy (around 4 hours) and used the protective flight bag that came with the suitcase. When I arrived, the protective bag had disappeared completely (which I know is the airline's responsibility), but what really shocked me was the suitcase itself.

It came back covered in scratches, deep scuffs, multiple dents and even blue paint marks. Honestly, it looks like it's survived years of flights, not one.

I've attached photos because I genuinely don't know if my expectations were unrealistic.

I contacted DB Journey hoping they might offer some kind of repair, replacement parts or simply try to help in some way. Instead, I was basically told that this was cosmetic damage and that I should pursue the airline instead. And that they dont have the fly bags as a spare part, so I cant even get one of those....

And yes, I am pursuing the airline. But here's what I don't understand:

If you're selling a $900 aluminum suitcase, promoting it with a Lifetime Warranty, and positioning it as premium luggage built for travel... shouldn't it either withstand normal airline handling better, or shouldn't the company at least stand behind the product when it ends up looking like this after its very first flight?

I'm not expecting a suitcase to stay perfect forever. Scratches over years of travel are part of owning aluminum luggage.

But after one single flight?

That's what I'm struggling with.

So I'm genuinely curious:

Is this considered normal for aluminum luggage?

Would your suitcase look like this after one trip?

Or would you also be disappointed if your brand-new suitcase ended up like this?

I'd really appreciate some honest opinions about what I should do here. And yes, I regret that purchase so much.
