It's been nine months since I first read Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, and my first reaction to it was, "fug capitalism" now randomly it has hit me and I've been thinking about it since a few weeks now and I think there's this thing about this book it's either you dislike it or you haven't experienced life enough to understand it. It's not just a fiction that can be read and analysed through literary lens, it doesn't read like a bedtime story. Because there's no way to UNDERSTAND it through WORDS, the only way to understand it is through the same internal turmoil, it'll hit you one day very randomly and then it'll make much more sense to you. It's just something about this book and the reason why people go like this is absurd, this is nonsense, I got grossed by his descriptions, it made no sense and the way they reject the idea of him waking up as an insect with no context and explanation PROVESSSS EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTED TO, but you're not turmoilised enough to understand.
It's just like one day you'll experience what it is like to wake up as an insect on a rainy day and your lower body gives up and it's just so hard for anyone to understand that it grosses them out and leads to them discarding you cause you're not functioning as you should and they've no explanation or no solution to that case so you end up being an insect to yourself first then to the people around you who are not that close to you and finally to the people who still had hope in you and were trying their best to help you after a while your absence doesn't affect them anymore cause it's easier to discard someone going through that instead of understanding what and why and sitting with that feeling. #entertainment source
