What is poetry
I have thought for a long time that poetry was just rhyming words. To write poetry you must find rhyming words or make rhyming words. But i have noticed that many poems use the same words like light, flight, night, bright.
I have been seeing the same words over again and it seems like poetry is no longer interesting. It seems like you just find some rhyming words and add some words at the front. The sense of inventiveness or newness in poetry is gone and it is ruining my interest in poetry.
If poetry isn't just rhyming words then what is it?
The question may seem dumb but i am new to poetry and would be happy to know.
