The beautiful city of Mtskheta, Georgia.

It is among the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities , with a history dating back over a millennium. Located about 20 km north of Tbilisi, at the junction of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, it was once a thriving fortified city and a crucial hub in the Kingdom of Iberia until the 5th century AD. Thanks to its historical importance, including remarkable churches and cultural landmarks, Mtskheta earned UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 1994. Additionally, it holds the title of "Holy City" bestowed by the Georgian Orthodox Church in 2014, given its role as the birthplace and a significant centre of Christianity in Georgia.

Pictured: the city of Mtskheta as seen from Jvari Monastery. We were very lucky with the weather and arrived at sunset, to capture this incredible picture.
