Plaintiffs: Universal Music Group (UMG), Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group, represented by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Defendant: Suno, Inc. (and initially Udio, another AI firm).
Allegations: The labels accuse Suno of "mass copyright infringement" by using their copyrighted recordings to train its AI models without permission or payment. I have indirectly been involved in the music industry for many years and record labels have been screwing the artists since forever so this isn't anything new... 'the house always wins'
well... if you have the paid version everything you made so far and downloaded, you own. the future is still uncertain... usually money solves all problems :/

Looks like I'm not screwed after all 😊 I use Suno Pro, so everything I create with my own lyrics and custom settings is fully mine to use and publish. The lawsuit is about Suno vs. the labels, not creators. Udio eventually settled with UMG. And honestly… money always makes the giants settle in the end. I’m just here making my music.
I think this might pave the way for the same type of action by other entities. Good source material is needed to train AI. How that is accessed is another matter.

agreed... in this case I think it was inevitable... the sad thing is that all the artists who actually made a large part of what was used to train AI aren't going to see a penny... same old story... it reminds me of this tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWa3RfPXmi8 😂

indeed, but not unexpected... UMG are partnering with Udio (probably for 50 bucks after suing them 😂) and suing Suno... there will be more news soon,m I am sure
