Hikes not to miss in Spain:
Cares Trail: The trail, which starts in Poncebos, is considered one of the most beautiful hikes in Spain. The trail runs within the Picos de Europa National Park, one of the top parks in Spain, so you won't want to miss this one. This 13.3 mile trail will take you about 8 hours, is open year round, and will take your breath away (literally!)
Caminito Del Rey, Malaga: One of the more unique trails in Spain, this trail is a walkway built into the canyon's rock wall. The route is nearly 330 feet above the river, so it is not for the feint of heart....Numerous foot bridges and a Paleolithic cave along the route are just a couple of the cool features of the trail.
Montana Chinyero: This volcanic trail in on the Canary Island of Tenerife, and provides sites of the Chinyero volcano and past lava flows. This 5.1 mile trail is fairly leisurely and has breathtaking views, interesting vegetation, and local wildlife. (see image below)
Mancha Blanca: This 5.8 mile trail is also in the Canary Islands on the island of Lanzarote...Leaving from the small town of Tinajo, this trail continues around the Caldera Blanca, which is more than 2 million years old. The ascent is gradual, but be prepared for wind and heat on this route, but the Martian landscape is worth the effort.
