Has anyone else moved from the Shoei RF-1200 to the RF-SR?
My 1200 was due to be replaced and I was miffed to say the least that it had been discontinued. Tried on the RF-SR and it fit like a glove so I bought it. Similar helmet, same head shape, figured it wouldn't be a huge change. When I got it home and compared, I was a little bummed that it didn't have the centre vent above the visor, but fit matters most, so I moved on. Swapped the Sena over and went for a ride.
Holy crap. Despite having one less vent, the airflow is nuts. I usually ride with everything open, but I may need to reconsider that during colder seasons now. But most importantly, the difference in noise. The 1200 was great. Cut down a lot of wind and general traffic noise compared to a lot of other competitors. But the SR? Crazy quiet. Like, driving my car quiet.
So, I'm curious. Anyone else made the same move? I want to hear if others have felt similarly, or differently, making the switch.
