suddenly not able to sit at work
hi everyone! obligatory "from europe and not from the usa". I work for a semi large library in a customer service position. part of the job description is that i have to switch between "infodesk" job and "floorwalker" (aka putting books away) job every two to three hours. I'm the only one on the team who has this kind of position, meaning everyone else has their infodesk/floorwalker shifts mixed with desk work where they can sit. Ive been working there for two years.
It used to be the case that we had a very high stool at the infodesk but suddenly this week they removed it, saying that we have to engage with the customers on "eyelevel". They said they'd test this out for a month. I'm already a bit in trouble for small, unrelated (ADHD-related) stuff so I'm scared to badger them with complains but DAMN am I suffering. I'm getting the impression that I'm more disabled than I thought (undiagnosed hypermobility) because I'm in constant, agonising pain.
I'm really at my wits end with this. If anyone has any advice, it'd be appreciated.
