All children, teenagers and schooling adults absolutely hate one single thing universally, regardless which part of the world they are in.
And that is none other than having to take examinations .
Well, who do have to we blame? The Chinese of course... 🤣🤣🤣
The Chinese were the first to hold examinations, otherwise known as the Imperial Examination (ie. civil service examination) , more than a millennium ago back in the Sui Dynasty during the 7th century.
The examinations is not limited to written examinations, but as well as military examinations for those serving in the military.
The purpose is to ensure that the appointed government officials or those in the military ranks would be selected based on their ability rather than nobility or connections. (ie. by merit rather than by birth)
Not every child, teenager and schooling adult aspires for a job in the civil service or in military in today's context.
But we still have to take examinations nonetheless.
Imagine the boredom and the pressure to succeed while preparing for the Imperial Examination back in those days.
At least now we have the comforts of the modern civilisation to aid us along the way.
