Gen Z is apparently falling in love with cars through video games and TikTok. My wallet is terrified.
So according to this article, the next generation of car enthusiasts is being raised on Forza, Gran Turismo, and CarTok instead of actual wrench turning and hot rod magazines. They're hunting for 80s muscle and JDM cars they first drove in video games . Gen Z and Gen Alpha are apparently becoming classic car junkies through screens .
Meanwhile I'm over here still trying to figure out how to change my own oil without making a mess.
The article says car culture isn't dying, it's just evolving. The collector car market is cooling off but the gaming market is about to double to $14.5 billion . So basically the next generation is going to buy the cars they fell in love with virtually.
What do you guys think? Is this the future of car culture or are we cooked?
