"Danny's Song"
By: Loggins and Messina
This song was written by Kenny Loggins in the late 1960s as a gift for his brother "Danny", recorded and released in 1971.
๐
Danny had called Kenny to share the news that his wife had given birth to their son "Colin". While Danny was overjoyed about becoming a father, he was also deeply anxious because he was broke, unsure how he would financially support his new family.

Kenny picked up his guitar and wrote the song that night to reassure his brother Danny. He wanted to convey that as long as there is Love, a Family can overcome any hardships - a sentim ent captured in the iconic lyrics:
"EVEN THOUGH WE AIN'T GOT MONEY, I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU, HONEY"
