From a technical standpoint, what happened with this email newsletter?
I'm a non-savvy person who signed up for a small Canadian store's newsletter. Blocked out offensive words and some other things related to the store.
At first I thought I was seeing a disgruntled customer's comments left on the website that somehow got linked to this email. Then I realized it looks more like an internal conversation within the marketing team.
I don't know the situation. It looks pretty abrasive but I know from personal experience as a Canadian that profanity gets casually tossed around a whole lot here, even in professional settings (I actually read a study done on this a few years ago that confirmed, though conservatively, that Canadians swear a lot), so maybe this is a perfectly normal exchange for these guys. Also, the person who wrote it seems rightfully upset that an employee used sloppy AI for a simple creative job. Maybe that employee has a history of problematic work or behavior. I simply don't know the situation.
But yeah, I was a bit startled by seeing something unexpected like this. And I'm scratching my head as to how that bit of text got into this promotional email for customers. #dev #technology #programming source
