How To Clean The Clean Water Tank?
Hi, I recently bought this 2009 Ford E-150 rental camper van. It has a clean water tank but the tank is completely enlosed by a built-in kitchen in the back and is inaccessible . The only access is the white fill cap that you can see in the photo just below the back corner of the back window.
Is contamination/bacteria/algae an issue? If so, are there tablets or solutions that can clean it? Other than shaking the entire van or driving it on a rough road, there's no way to agitate the tank. Should I just not worry about it? The water that came out of it (via a hand pump-operated sink) looked clear and odorless but I didn't try tasting it.
**SOLUTION*****!*** Thank you for your responses! It seems that a mix of 1/4 cup bleach to 15 gallons of water, pour it in, pump until I smell the bleach, then just leave it for an hour, pump it all out, then fill with clean water, and pump that all out, too. I hope the little sink pump handle doesn't wear out! I don't think it pumps more than about 4oz per stroke.
