Giving English-written literature another chance
I struggle a lot with books written in English. I only have managed to read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which is a pleasant and easy book to read. But I wish I had enough vocabulary to read more serious and adult books. I have tried to read The Bell Jar and Crash, but failed at both. The Bell Jar seemed specially complicated to a non-native speaker. Since then, I haven't tried to read anything in English again.
But today I just said "fuck it", and I will try to read Naked Lunch. I don't know anything about the book, just choose it because Burroughs was mentioned in a book about LSD that I was reading. Do you guys have any tips for me to hold on to it and not give up?
