what is the best way to find a quote that's in your head?
I'm thinking today about this sentence. I'm not fully sure of the words, it's something like "...hanging on like the last blue thread in a sea of cerulean blue" or SOMETHING like that. I don't know the exact words, or the sentiment, but I just had a feeling today that reminded me of this sentence, and I know I read it somewhere. How do I find it?
There's another line I love (from a different book or story) about looking into dark saloons at lonely men staring at the bottom of their glasses. I loved what the line evoked, it feels like it might have been from a short story by Hemingway (at least in vibe) but I can't find it either.
How do you keep quotes and find them? And is there any way I could find these lines that have been living in my head? I really want to know the source and the exact words of these sentiments.
