I'm bummed that I have been playing Halo since it first came out, owned all the Xbox console editions and collectors editions games, but this collectors edition was sold out in 45 min. (I even own the OG Transparent Halo edition green Xbox I won at a VGL tournament.)
Then I see scalpers selling them online for double or triple the price.
Some of my best childhood memories are lan parties in the garage with all the neighbor kids playing until sun up. Some of the best friends I made back then are still my friends to this day. Huge core memory for me for sure.
I enjoyed waiting in line until midnight to grab a copy of the game or console with my friends which unfortunately seems like those days are done. You can't walk in a GameStop and pre reserve special edition games anymore sounds wild to me.
I wish an opportunity was given to the loyal players of this game. I'll never forget the launch of Halo 2 online multiplayer. I was there so many years ago and I'll never forget it. Getting to level 39 in team slayer was my greatest accomplishment in any video game period. And I did it with no stand by garbage.
19 consecutive years as a loyal Xbox Live player should have had a special invite ticket to purchase a collector's edition game is how I feel. Halo or any games or news for that matter. What's the point of having the badge of honor of all these years with no perks.
It is what it is and maybe I'm just being dumb thinking this way but I'm really just sad, bummed, and frustrated. After all these years this will be the first halo edition game I wasn't able to get.
