A place that brings me happiness is away from home.
Now I understand why some people find relaxation by the sea.
This realization dawned on me during a trip to the seaside with a university peer.
We had discussed a trip to the beach because I longed to submerge myself in the waves. Luckily, the plan materialized and didn't just remain a pleasant daydream. 😀
On that particular day, our first priority was to find some food to ensure our conversation wouldn't be interrupted by hunger. Once everything was organized, we hastened into the cottage urgently.
Having been estranged from communication for such an extended duration, we had nearly a decade's worth of life developments to recount.
As we took turns sharing our stories, my friend exuded joy while recounting her blissful married life. In contrast, I found myself overwhelmed with emotions, shedding tears as I tried to articulate my own struggles. I poured out my grievances without concern for the neighboring cottage overhearing.
Throughout our conversation, the intermittent gusts of wind which graced my face did little to suppress my continuous sobs. That day, I discovered that though I could not voice all my innermost thoughts to her due to my inability to find appropriate words, there was a certain comfort in knowing that even amidst my troubled world, I had a companion.
Our time was mostly spent in five hours of talking and eating, and our conversations were just as vibrant on our journey back home.
It's hilarious that despite our seaside adventure, we never dived into the ocean as neither of us packed a swimsuit! Hahaha!
