What does your “push to prod” look like?

I’ve been working at my current place for about 9 months now and have recently gotten to the stage where they trust me to start doing the occasional deployments.

The process to do it seems… longwinded to me. I don’t want to go into all the detail but it’s about 24 steps to get everything merged and repos updated, build docker images, update slack, update release notes etc, and this will only get things into _staging_!

There is then about another 15 steps or so to update helms pull the right docker images onto the servers and run the scripts required to actually get things into production. We’ve about 6 different environments for different clients so a couple of those last 15 steps have to be run on each one separately.

Is this nuts? I’ve only done simpler projects before and it was usually just a “pick the server you want and hit the big green button to deploy it”
